🌱 A Thought on Garden Starts
If you’ve ever felt like transplanting garden starts is somehow “cheating” or less skilled than starting from seed — you’re not alone. The truth is, transplanting is not a shortcut — it’s a strategic decision that can save you time and help you harvest sooner. In many ways, it requires just as much awareness, timing, and care as starting seeds indoors.
Young plants are fragile. Too much fertilizer can burn them. The wrong soil conditions at the wrong time can slow growth or stunt production. And transplant shock is always a factor if conditions aren’t right. Successful transplanting comes down to understanding the plant — how it’s been grown, when it’s ready, and how to transition it into your garden environment.
That’s exactly why we offer starts that are not only healthy and well-rooted, but selected with intention and tested for success in the market garden.
